Having been a "P&O Man" for 70 years and in recent years cruised extensively with P&O Cruises, now sadly American owned and with standards slipping i.e. silver service gone, menus reduced, meeting with Chief Steward regarding food alergies-gone, little things that used to be standard and pure P&O gone-which is very sad. My Wife and I decided we would try Ambassador Cruises. At the outset I intended to be hypercritical but within the first hour of boarding I rapidly changed my mind. The ship was very clean, the staff friendly and the food, as we soon found out, was excellent. We were soon bowled over, and were so impressed that we have already booked another cruise for next year and have no hesitation in recommending the line to anyone. It is to be hoped that they will not allow standards to slip, as P&O Cruises have done.
